Context

A four-frame story about two objects dissolving into one another, created on the windows of a coffee shop in Nizhny Novgorod.
The Salut coffee shop is located in the very center of the city and functions as a natural point of attraction. Its open space, constant flow of people, and large display windows have long become part of the urban scene. Artist Anton Morokov set himself the task of creating a light, almost unobtrusive work on the windows — one that responds to the local context and blends naturally into the surrounding environment.

I was interested in working with the very form of the display window, drawing on the idea of stained glass and the possibilities offered by this space.. This window is a recognizable point in the center of Nizhny Novgorod, both locals and visitors see it, and that only heightens the sense of responsibility. When a work appears in such an open space, in full view of everyone, you inevitably face a certain level of responsibility. And learn how to live with it.
The composition created by Anton Morokov is structured as a sequential visual narrative and explores themes of transformation and interaction. The four windows function as independent scenes, each capturing a new stage of change. Within this "framed" structure, the viewer observes not a static image but movement, a gradual merging of two elements. Color is also part of this dynamic, echoing the light graphic silhouette. The windows simultaneously divide the composition and connect it, emphasizing the continuity of interaction.
"Easy Interactions" organically aligns with Anton Morokov’s graphic principles: repetition of motifs, rhythmic lines, and an interest in the transformation of form. Similar light, flexible elements — feathers, arrows, flags, nests, and other figures — often appear in his practice, shifting from one configuration to another while retaining the artist’s recognizable visual language.

Process

Art object form: window installation
Style: graphic art
Material: oracal colored vinyl film
The work is perceived as a kind of stained glass. During the day, the vinyl casts soft, graphic shadows inside the space; in the evening, it forms a clear, expressive silhouette readable from the street. As a result, the installation operates in two directions, both outward and inward.
In his practice, Anton Morokov increasingly turns to digital formats, where manual labor gives way to concept and precision of execution. "Easy Interactions" continues this approach: the artist created a graphic sketch, while the technical production — vinyl cutting and installation — was carried out by a production team.

For me personally, graphic art is a fairly honest tool. I usually work with two or three colors, four at most, and through their interaction it becomes immediately clear where one color ends and another begins. Because of this, I think the idea is conveyed very precisely.
