Garden City. Tatneft Energy
"Garden City. Tatneft Energy" is a comprehensive public art program dedicated to Nizhnekamsk — a city originally designed in harmony between nature, industry, and everyday life.
The project explores local identity and brings to the forefront the core image of the Garden City. Green infrastructure, neighborhood architecture, industrial landscapes, and rare flora become both artistic material and a language for reflecting on the values of the city and Tatneft.
An important focus of the project is the phenomenon of urban nostalgia — a sentimental attachment to the cities of the past, to their sights, sounds, and atmosphere, emerging amid modern transformations and gentrification. The project team collects and digitizes historical photographs of the city, as well as personal stories of its first builders, creating an open digital archive of Nizhnekamsk’s birth and growth. AR technologies turn this archive into a living experience: memory becomes part of the everyday route, helping residents rediscover the connection between place, time, and their own experience.
